"Business is over!" -- Pacquiao, in the post-fight interview.

In another highly-anticipated match, Pacquiao squeaked past Marquez to capture the Jr. Lightweight belt.

Marquez unexpectedly dominated the first two rounds but got tagged with a vicious left straight in the third that sent his head banging on the canvas. Pacquiao got the next round but Marquez rebounded amazingly in the 8th round. The later rounds were too close to score as they could have gone either way.

Pacquiao won on a close split decision with scores of 112-115, 115-112, and 114-113. In my scorecard, Marquez won 114-113. But what the heck, I could only score the fight with what the cameramen fed to the screen.

Pacquiao's newfound technical skills and patience might be his newly found weakness after all. He was a bit too methodical and very predictable. Anyway, the argument is only applicable to superb counterpunchers like Marquez.

Its either draw or Marquez in favor but I'm surprised Paquiao won, it was a good thing he knocked out Marquez on the 3rd, it was a good fight, very good one.

Yes, I thought Marquez won by a point. But I'm not surprised they gave it to Pacquiao. The fight was very very close to score. Pacquiao was lucky that Marquez lost the pop on his punches after that KO in the 3rd. Pacquiao playing a strategist was terrible. Offense was his better defence against technical boxers.

if I'm not a filipino I could've said "what the heck?!". I had the same presumption that Marquez won but when they gave it Pacquiao, I was then a bit relieved.
